The Innkeeper’s Lodge (formally Pohutukawa Lodge) is ideally located beside Stonewall Village and across the road from beautiful Pa Beach in Tryphena Harbour. The Lodge is built around an old historic Kauri Villa with a rich settler history. It has five en suite rooms and a small backpacker unit. The lodge is part of the iconic and friendly Currach Irish Pub. The en suite rooms include twins/doubles and bigger rooms that can sleep up to 4 people.
This venue is an ideal place for a holiday with the option of dining in the Gallery Restaurant or cooking in the self-catering guest kitchen. There is also a delicious takeaway menu available from the Restaurant Kitchen if you want to watch the sunset at the beach. The Gallery Restaurant hosts regular local art exhibitions. We can arrange fishing charters, car hire and flights. We have hosted weddings, and small conferences at the Lodge. We offer complimentary Kayaks and Wifi. We have been in the Hospitality Industry for over three decades and love sharing beautiful Great Barrier Island with our guests.

Our Guests’s Experience
Great hospitality, soooo friendly, great accommodation, great food – not to mention the best pub ever! We have been over to the Currach before for our honeymoon and that was absolutely the best choice we have ever done. We have come back for the Great Barrier Marathon and yet again we have not been let down. The owners couldn’t be more helpful if they tried. Thank you so much for looking after us. You are doing a fantastic job.
The staff at the pub and lodge were extremely friendly and always greeted us with a smile. Our room was very cosy, clean & quiet with a little deck perfect for enjoying a refreshing beer or wine.
